It's been a couple of weeks since the tragic news of Cory Monteith's death. It was a shock and I've been in denial ever since. Not only did I fall in love the character Finn Hudson but I was quite fond Cory as an individual. He was such an amazing person and the world has lost a great man but he will never be forgotten. I'm sending out a virtual hug to all gleeks worldwide. I'm grateful that GLEE helped introduce Cory to the world.
I always thought Cory would be the perfect boyfriend, if I was into guys. Anyhow, I can still appreciate beauty and he was one tall glass of handsome. He was: good looking, in shape, tall, athletic, a talented singer, musician & actor; he had: great skin, cool hair, a lovely smile, healthy teeth, a nice personality, and a great sense of humor. He was full of energy and although he was only my friend in the gleek world, I wish I could've been his friend in real life.
I went to both GleeLive concerts and I felt like a teenager, screaming at the top of my lungs. The glee cast brought it. Their performances were a blast! I'm fortunate to live in L.A. and I try my best to attend any glee related events. I especially love the Q&A's. I went to a couple of glee panels at the PaleyFest and it was always a pleasure to be in Cory's presence.
After the panels, he would stick around for autographs.
The most memorable event was the Biggest Show! I got to see him act out stories written by students. The Young Storytellers Foundation held an amazing show, with awesome stories and great actors, and raised a lot of money for their foundation. I'm glad I was able to volunteer that evening.
I was lucky enough to meet Cory. He was even more beautiful in person. I was a bit starstruck but I kept my cool. Glee was taping at the Eagle Rock Plaza and my niece and I went and stayed the whole day watching them film. Security/bodyguards were doing rounds to make sure that none of the fans bothered the actors. That intimidated me from approaching any of the actors. We happened to be standing near the escalator when their break was announced. My niece told Chord hello and he ignored her, then right away I saw security approaching us; she was scared to talk to anybody else but I stepped up and told Cory and Mark hello and they were both friendly. They let us take a photo even though security was telling us to back off.
A story I love to share about Cory is the time he tweeted a picture of a gift I gave him. That just shows how cool of a person he was!
Everyday I'll think of Cory because I wake up to a poster of him on my wall. I will also take the time to say a little prayer for Cory, Lea, his family, friends, glee family, band, and gleeks.
REMEMBER CORY: BECAUSE WE MUST!

Ugh. Thank you for this. Very sad. I remember reading about his addiction in Parade mag I believe a couple years back. I, too, was going through my own battle of getting sober. Nothing like his buzz of choice, but still... I empathize.
I've been so busy with my own career and life, that I've fallen out of watching Glee and much tv this year. But, the episodes I watched, well, Cory looked tired a lot. He was playing a very intense part of his character's storyline, and perhaps it just took a toll. I'm just saddened that he was alone. I hope he didn't suffer.
Thank you for always being authentic and being someone who just seems to live life fully, Stef.

Sweet of you to comment Nova Jade. Thank you for reading and sharing! I'm sorry to hear about your previous battle. I hope you are doing fine.
Yes, that's the thing that gets me, that he was alone. At least he isn't suffering anymore. I'm glad that the glee family is sticking together. The tribute episode is going to be hard to watch but I can't even imagine how difficult it is for the glee crew to get through that episode. I'm sure it will be a great tribute.
Take care and lots of LOVE!
