Charismatic Cory

It's been a couple of weeks since the tragic news of Cory Monteith's death. It was a shock and I've been in denial ever since. Not only did I fall in love the character Finn Hudson but I was quite fond Cory as an individual. He was such an amazing person and the world has lost a great man but he will never be forgotten. I'm sending out a virtual hug to all  gleeks worldwide. I'm grateful that GLEE helped introduce Cory to the world.

I always thought Cory would be the perfect boyfriend, if I was into guys. Anyhow, I can still appreciate beauty and he was one tall glass of handsome. He was: good looking, in shape, tall, athletic, a talented singer, musician & actor; he had: great skin, cool hair, a lovely smile, healthy teeth, a nice personality, and a  great sense of humor. He was full of energy and although he was only my friend in the gleek world, I wish I could've been his friend in real life.

It's Earth Day! What Are We Gonna Do?

 Happy Earth Day!

What have you done for your planet lately? This is our home, let's take care of it. I've been recycling cans and bottles since I was in Jr. High School. Thanks to the city of Los Angeles, we have our blue recycle bins that makes sorting the trash easy. The simple things do matter. You can take your used batteries, old computers and various waste materials to recycle centers. Check Earth911 for the nearby locations.

Meeting The Shum

Last month I found out that Harry Shum Jr. was going to be a special guest at This Week, a sketch comedy show about the week’s current events, at Second City in Hollywood. I immediately bought my tickets in advance. Great move because it sold out quickly. The performance was hilarious and Harry was brilliant. It was a great opportunity to see Harry in action and in an intimate setting. I also wanted to give the Second City crew a shout out because they were very entertaining and had me laughing at all the sketches, especially Patricia Villetto. If you’re ever in Hollywood, you should totally check out a performance.

After the show, I was lucky enough to meet HSJ. He was extremely nice, huggable and smiley. It was a quick hello and a snapped photo. He hung out a bit at the theatre and was kind enough to chat and take photos with some fans. My niece and I were also able to take our photo with Harry. Even though I had a bad hair day, at least it was a good day.

I Kissed A Girl (Gleek)

I'm a girl that likes girls. I, like many other lesbians/bi-sexual females, get excited when we get to see girly action. Not the "girly action" that lets homophobic guys tolerate two girls together. I'm talking about girls and them having crushes on other girl friends, having girlfriends, relationships, flirting, kissing, holding hands, being in love, etc. The film and television industry has come a long way! To see these actions on the big screen, films, TV shows, and talk shows is very exciting. Over the past decade, there has been more LGBT characters in movies and on TV. I want to thank the glee staff/writers/producers/directors/actors for representing!

"I love girls the way I'm supposed to feel about boys." - Santana

Song list for GLEE: Season 3 - Episode 7 - I Kissed A Girl:

"Perfect"
"I'm the Only One"
"Girls Just Want to Have Fun"
"Jolene"
"I Kissed A Girl"
"Constant Craving"

And The Drums

The drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, oh!

I just love GREAT DJ by The Ting Tings; just as much as I love drummers. Okay, so it's no surprise that I'm a total GLEEK! Last April, my niece and I were in San Francisco looking at colleges and it just so happened that Bonnie Dune (Cory Monteith's new band) was performing. We went and it was a fun show!

I make little guitar pick necklaces for people I admire. That being said, I wanted to do something a little different for a cool drummer boy. I got a drum key and inscribed Cory's name on one side, and a star on the other. I then attached it to a key ring, with a chain for clipping on pants and easy access. Cory totally loved it and the band members said that he is always looking for a key. That was so cool because I gave him a gift that he would actually use.

A few months later, Cory tweeted about the drum key! That was just AWESOME!

Kristin Chenoweth @ The Grove

On September 21st, The Grove welcomed Kristin Chenoweth to promote her new album Some Lessons Learned with a live performance filmed for Extra.
"What Would Dolly Do"
"Fathers and Daughters"
"I want Somebody (Bitch About)"
"It's part of the art of creating something new" -Kristin Chenoweth
Barnes and Noble sold the CD, giving you a wristband to meet Kristin, after her performance, for a CD signing. We waited in line for a bit because she was doing interviews. It was worth the wait.
After the small set, I got in line to get my cd autographed. There was this teenage girl and her dad behind me and she told her father that Kristin sang that song "Fathers and Daughters" for them. How adorable!
Even though, prior to the signing, the staff went around saying there would be no posing photos, Kristin still took photos with fans. She is so sweet! I was happy to meet her and finally give her the glee necklace I made for her.

F A S H I O N

Super HOT cover of David Bowie's FASHION! Glee covered it to promote FNO (Fashion Night Out). It premiered a couple of weeks ago. Last night was the big night. The majority of events were in New York but L.A. had some too. Not a big fashion person so I don't really know much on the subject. Yesterday and today, that's what is trending: #FNO.
Heard about all the events/parties and seen photos...I wish I was in NY this week.

GLEE Sing Along

Glee took over Santa Monica High School, again (1st screening), on 8/15/2011.
I didn't know what to expect, since this was the first annual sing along. When we arrived to the school, they gave us a program, popcorn & water. It wasn't as crowded as I expected. We got some seats and waited to sing some songs.
There were several GLEEKS there to introduce the songs.
Kevin McHale, Harry Shum Jr., Ashley Fink, & Dante Di Loreto.

Kristin Chenoweth

Mike O'Malley, Chris Colfer, Kristin Chenoweth, & Dot Marie Jones

After the songs were done, Kristin Dos Santos came out on stage and did a Q&A with Dante Di Loreto, Dot-Marie Jones, JANE LYNCH, Chris Colfer, Robert Ulrich (Casting Director), and Mike O'Malley.
Congratulations on the many Emmy Nominations GLEE!

Glee in the Flesh

I just can't get enough of GLEE! I went to the Glee Live concert at Staples last month. I was lucky enough to win tickets! Thanks to Glee Wiki and their photo contest, I won VIP tickets!! It was so awesome =). I took my niece and we got to go in early to the VIP Lounge and they had snacks & drinks, including a slushie machine. We were given an awesome Glee Live 2011 bag with a cool Warbler tie, the concert program, a glee tumbler with a straw, and a glee folder.
After the reception, staff escorted us to our seats on THE FLOOR!!! We had the best seats ever!!! Center stage, 4th row!
.
Once the concert started, I couldn't stop screaming! I was screaming throughout the whole show. The cast gave an amazing performance and I was happy with their song selection. I went to last year's tour but this year was more exciting! The Warblers were here!!!
I was totally blown away with the "Britney" performance by Heather Morris!
The had actual fireworks during Firework!
We were in the glee choir room.
Baby, we were Born This Way!
I have too many favorite concert moments but the one that stands out the most was Loser Like Me. It's an original and the way it was performed, it felt like I was at the theater when they performed it on the "Original Song" episode. The cast busted out the little slushie cups with confetti and threw it out into the audience!
Darren Criss and the guys came out and did "Friday" acoustically. This picture is my favorite because it's hilarious! Darren was fixing the mic and the egg shakers....
Great show, from start to end!

YouTube wasn't MY TUBE!

I sent this email to YouTube last week.....and still no word =(. I just wanted to share my frustration with whomever would listen.

Last night my Youtube (StereoStef) account was TERMINATED.

YouTube account StereoStef has been terminated because we received multiple third-party notifications of copyright infringement from claimants including:

· Dick Clark Productions, Inc.

· Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation

· Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation

I have been a youtube member for 5 years and had over 400 videos. The videos were all created by ME. They were all fun experiences with memories of my family, friends, music, and entertainment. When I first discovered YT, I thought it was the greatest site ever invented, and still do. I wasn’t on this site to make money; all of the content I uploaded was mine. There were several videos that had music in the background and I would give the artist credit, also stating, “NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGMENT.”

For my account to be TERMINATED seems UNFAIR!

The “3 strikes you’re out” deal is reasonable, especially with some of the content people upload but is there any way I can appeal this? I feel like such a fool, a gleek fool, because the 3 accounts were all glee related. Did I mention I was GLEEK OF THE WEEK (4/26/11)? Can I plead insanity? My obsession with glee got my YT account terminated.

I can recall the violation of the “Dick Clark Productions, Inc.and I can see why that was removed. It was glee related. I filmed a few seconds of glee receiving an award on tv and reactions of the people in the room. Yes I filmed something else getting filmed on the television. After the video was removed and I received my notice, I read the COPYRIGHT TIPS. I acknowledged my wrong doing in regards to the infringement.

I hadn’t uploaded a video in a long time. Yesterday I uploaded 2 videos from the GLEE LIVE concert. Something I’ve been regretting all night and morning. Both videos are less than 2 mins and one is even less than 1 minute. I wanted to share them with other gleeks around the world that couldn’t attend a show. It is an amazing performance! I do believe that every fan should see the concert. I know that Latin America has been sending out online petitions to get the tour over there. This is the second time the tour didn’t schedule there. I just wanted to share the glee love. I am ecstatic that there will be a GLEE CONCERT 3D FILM coming out in August and I apologize if my clips of 128 seconds were a violation of Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation.

Please note that under Section 512(f) of the Copyright Act, any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material was disabled due to mistake or misidentification may be liable for damages.

I am just a mere fan and my videos that contained INFRINGMENT were due to me, Stephanie Chavez, being stupid and not knowing the complete laws. I honestly didn’t think I was doing anything wrong with sharing the glee material. I would have never purposely done anything to violate my favorite television show, GLEE. I respect the program and Fox. I love the Fox Film Corporation and would never try to take credit for something that wasn’t mine. Yes, I filmed it. No, I didn’t know I wasn’t allowed to film it, let alone upload it. I didn’t upload episodes of glee, or glee material that wasn’t mine. In this sense, it was mine because I recorded it but I will never make that gleeky mistake again.

I know you probably get people begging for another chance…well….I AM one of them. Please Please Please REINSTATE my YT accountSTEREOSTEF. I know that people say they will never do it again and then turn around and repeat their mistakes but I PROMISE that I’m not one of those people. I would sign some kind of form stating that I would never upload a video to the STEREOSTEF account again, if that’s what it would take.

When YT terminated my account, an arrow was shot through my heart. That was YT deleting my memories; most of the memories that I would probably never see again, due to computer crashes and lost files. I share my videos with friends and family all over the world. I am beyond depressed that my visual memories have been cut out of the internet. This was mytube! I just want my previous videos back. I’ve worked so hard on them.

I’ve been to concerts where they have postings saying, “No recording allowed!” The GLEE concert wasn’t one of them. I even asked a couple of workers, at the show, if filming clips were allowed and they said yes. I know, they have nothing to do with this violation but that’s just the type of person I am, I want to make sure I abide by the rules. I searched through YT and saw videos from the tour and thought it was fine. If I waited another day, I would’ve seen that they were removed and would have never attempted to upload the videos!

I would have been grateful to have an account suspension for a while as opposed to terminating. What can I do? Please help me. I have been a loyal user all these years. I’m hoping that you will take that into consideration. Try out a different equation strategy: the number of videos uploaded, times years, divided by the number of violations, times years. Have a little heart, from one fan to another.

Sincerely,

Stephanie A. Chavez

Glee Project's FIREWORK

Today is glee's season 2 finale. I'm excited for tonight's episode but I'm sad that the season is over. Thank God for The Glee Project, premiering June 12th, for keeping me occupied this summer. Even though I have glee's complete first season, first part of the second season and the rest of the season DVR'd, I still tuned into Oxygen to watch the gleekaton. I was also following along on twitter but I think that I was too late for some of the trivia due to the different time zones.

It was fun watching the previews and ads for THE GLEE PROJECT. I knew they were going to premiere a video, of the new cast, but I didn't see the whole marathon because I went to Long Beach pride. I had a little too much fun and was recovering these past couple of days. I'm feeling a lot better now and Gleesday always gets me pumped, so I started reading tweets and following up on gleeks. I saw the FIREWORK video on youtube and I got the chills! I just had to share it.

Gleek of the Week

My gleekness paid off! I can't believe I was GOTW!!!! It was a couple of weeks ago for the Born This Way episode but I'm still getting props from friends about it =).

I have been a fan of glee from the beginning. How could you not like glee? I bought the first episode from walmart, and mailed my coupon for a free shirt, and must have seen that several times and got the chills every time they performed Don't Stop Believin'. I couldn't believe that we had to wait a few months for the second episode, especially since there was a preview on the disc.

I was hooked! I got my family and friends to watch the show and even turned non believers into gleeks. I started a scrapbook and collected any photo/article relating to glee. I always promoted and shared glee info on social networks and word of mouth. I even joined twitter just to follow the glee cast. Once the first season continued in the fall of 2009, I was even more obsessed! Christmas time was great with the CDs & DVD coming out. I had just bought a car and I've always wanted a personalized license plate, so when it came down to picking one, I chose: GLEEK * (with the Rachel Berry star at the end).

Last August I tweeted to Fox to pick me as Gleek of the Week and tried again but wasn't successful. I could just imagine all the people that were tweeting to get picked. It was really hard trying to write, in limited characters, why you should be picked, so this year, when they mentioned, via facebook, that you could email (gleekoftheweek@gmail.com) them explaining why you should be picked as GOTW, I jumped on it. I emailed them and included a picture of my license plate but got no response. A couple of weeks later I forwarded the email with a note saying that I've tried a few times before and was sending the same gleeky info. Later on I got an email saying I was a finalist!!!

I had to sign a release form and set my default photo to a solo picture of myself. I didn't tell anybody because I didn't want to jinx it. I received an email the day before saying that my info was received and I would be hearing from them the following day. I checked my email on Tuesday and there was no word. I was a little sad but still hoped I got picked. At least I was getting a mega 90min glee episode to watch with my family.

When the episode ended and they showed the gleek of the week, my family and I screamed!! I was just as surprised as they were =-}. I checked my email and I was informed a couple of hours after I stopped checking my inbox. I also wanted to give a shout out to my fox correspondence, Cait Hood, whom was very sweet via email.

People had been asking what it was that I said to become GOTW, so below is the email I sent:

Ok, I just totally have to win the GLEEK OF THE WEEK! I've tried before on twitter but wasn't successful =(. I saw this post on facebook and wanted to email because I'd be able to share more reasons why here, than a tweet (limited characters).

My license plate says: GLEEK * (and we all know what the star stands for). picture: http://twitpic.com/1e4vqc

First off, I'm so OBSESSED! I've seen every episode, have the DVDs and have all the CDs, including Vol. 5 - that I just bought. Glee is so AMAZING! The show, the music, the characters, the story lines, the choreography, and anything else I've missed. I get the chills whenever I hear the songs. I have the glee iphone app (stereostef) and I share my songs on facebook. I'm always promoting glee and sharing info. I saw GLEE LIVE last year and plan to again this year, if I can afford it. One of my favorite tweets is, "Will Work 4 GLEE." I went to last year's paleyfest glee panel and I'll be going again next week.

Now they say that a picture is worth a thousand words, here are over a hundred pics: http://www.flickr.com/photos/stereostef/collections/72157624189316127/(My gleek (related) photo collection on flickr)

I made the whole glee cast necklaces but I haven't had the honor of giving them to the cast because everybody is GLEE CRAZY! I did give Lea, Ryan & Jane theirs though =).

My name is STEPHANIE CHAVEZ and you can find me by StereoStef via the internet.

I really really really hope to get picked.

GLEE ROCKS MY WORLD!!!!!

ps: I am the biggest gleek, according to my family & friends but i would love for somebody else to notice. thanks, stef
For all the gleeks out there that want to be GOTW........
DON'T STOP BELIEVIN'
