My tRumper Uncle

I do not understand how a person, whom claims to be holy and Christlike, can blindly follow such an evil person like a fool.

I have a family messenger group and it’s an easy way to keep in touch, give updates and share photos. My tRumper Uncle sent a post about the orange goblin. To make it worst, it was one of those chain letter posts that say to copy and share with x amount of people. That pissed me off! I went to delete it but it was only going to be deleted from my view and not the group. So I kindly posted to please refrain from posting political posts in the group. This is a grown man and I expected him to be courteous but he replied: “the truth” in caps. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I said the next time, he would be blocked from the group. I don’t know if I ruffled feathers but it had to be said. He also sent the same post to me privately. I think he sent them both at the same time but I was irritated and I responded that I’m sure he has plenty of friends to send messages like that to and to please not send me any. He also replied: the truth. 🤬 I’m just going to mute him for a bit but if it comes down to it, I will block him.

A couple of months ago my Uncle came to visit from Washington. He’s a devout tRumper and I was already dreading conversations that were to occur. Still, he is an elder and I respect him so I went out of my way to pick him up from the airport, during traffic, even though I had a birthday dinner to go to and would be late. I love him and was happy to see him and one of the first things he said when he got into MY car was tRump related. I told him right away that I don’t care for that guy, which wasn’t news to him, and would appreciate to not have to hear or talk about that orange stain. To be fair, I said no politics talk at all. He agreed but of course didn’t uphold the deal. He praises and talks more about the orange goblin than the word of God.

It’s as if he gets maga bonus points and has a quota because any chance he got, he tried to slither his way in any conversation. I would change topics asap but he couldn’t help himself throughout the visit. One day at the kitchen table, he attempted to talk shit about Kamala. Not in my house!!! I said why do you hate her? But my sister looked over at me and mouthed, don’t get him started. Started? He hasn’t stopped. My brother in-law said we don’t talk politics here, especially at the table. He was quiet for a bit and then went into my father’s room and tried his luck in there.

My dad told Uncle Orange Wannabe what he thought of tRump and gave him a gift. It was a toilet paper roll with tRump’s face printed on it. They both laughed and my Uncle said he was going to use it.

Peace out Twitter

I know it’s called some random letter or whatever but I still referred to the OG name as I continued to tweet. Now it’s my official ex. Fuck Musk! #Fusk 😏

I saved a lot of my media and then was going to get rid of it but my friend told me to delete my posts and likes before canceling it because even though I get rid of my account, all my data is still stored on the site. Ugh! Seems like such a hassle but they were right, I tried deleting my retweets and wasn’t able to on some of them because those users deleted their account. So here is a faster way to help with the process: https://tweetdelete.net/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=19654119094&utm_content=148866577187&utm_term=tweetdelete&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAApExN7ksrqWW2rJJFJKCInEvcYkpB

FU

Family United?

Friends United?

Foes United?

Fakes United?

Fascists United?

No. This is just a straight out - FUCK U!

I don’t care if we’re family by blood, marriage, or bonds. I don’t care if we’ve been friends since elementary school. If you claim to care about ME, break that brick wall and see me as a person, a human being that deserves the same rights as you. Respect me even though I’m not in your cult, because no matter how ridiculous I may think your values and beliefs are, I respect you enough to let you be your true self. Continue being a two-faced hypocrite. We don’t have to believe in the same God and you can attempt to save me all you want but I am saved and my God loves me. Go ahead and judge me all you want because it makes you feel superior; your judgement doesn’t matter to me. Only God can judge me. When I die, I’ll have to answer to them and so will you.

“American” Idiots

It’s been rough accepting the election results but it’s extremely naive to think that tRUMP actually won the presidency.

She Keeps Me Warm

The VMAs had many great performances, along with a shameful one, but my favorite was Same Love. It's such an amazing song and it sends a powerful message. I'm proud of this song. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis deserve their award. They're heroes! Not only are they promoting equality, they're spreading love.

Mary Lambert has a beautiful voice. She was so emotional during her performance that she made me cry at the end of the song. I wanted to hug her. She recently came out with a video for She Keeps Me Warm and it's beautiful. She's so pretty. I have a new crush. I wish I lived in Seattle.

Moz, Mel & More

I love Morrissey! I've spent most of my life on his trail. Unfortunately I wasn't hardcore enough to attend his Hollywood High gig. A few of my friends went; I had to stay behind; I wonder if they saw the jealousy in my eyes.

I envy the crowd of Moz Angelenos that were at that historical show. For the rest of us fans, we can stop our crying because the concert was filmed and will soon be available for viewing. My friend Melissa sent me an email with a Spin Magazine link showing a clip of Everyday Is Like Sunday....and she's in it!
Now, I'm even more excited for the concert film! I hope to see more of her, other friends and familiar faces.

Charismatic Cory

It's been a couple of weeks since the tragic news of Cory Monteith's death. It was a shock and I've been in denial ever since. Not only did I fall in love the character Finn Hudson but I was quite fond Cory as an individual. He was such an amazing person and the world has lost a great man but he will never be forgotten. I'm sending out a virtual hug to all  gleeks worldwide. I'm grateful that GLEE helped introduce Cory to the world.

I always thought Cory would be the perfect boyfriend, if I was into guys. Anyhow, I can still appreciate beauty and he was one tall glass of handsome. He was: good looking, in shape, tall, athletic, a talented singer, musician & actor; he had: great skin, cool hair, a lovely smile, healthy teeth, a nice personality, and a  great sense of humor. He was full of energy and although he was only my friend in the gleek world, I wish I could've been his friend in real life.

7/13/13 at Outfest

It's that time of year again...OUTFEST baby! There are so many great films I wanna check out. My nieces and I are so happy that they're having a Pitch Perfect Sing-Along. We watch it everyday and we're looking forward to getting #PitchSlapped with other fans.

Thursday, 7/11, is the Outfest Opening Night Gala but I'm more excited for the 13th. It's my birthday and they're showing an amazing film at the fest. I saw The Most Fun I've Ever Had With My Pants On last year at the AFI Fest and fell in love with Drew Denny! I've been raving about this film for the longest and I'm glad that my friends are going to get a chance to see it.

SUN Summertime

I can't believe that summer is here! This year flew by. I haven't even accomplished much this year. I'm broke & jobless. I'm hoping that things will turn around. To lighten things up, I'm sharing my favorite Summer song:

Twerkin' Stevie

Addicted to twerking? I'm addicted to watching this INTERVENTION: TWERKING video. I've lost count of how many times I've seen it. I dare somebody to watch it without laughing. It's hilarious! If I ever feel sad, I'm going to watch this video.

The second season of Stevie TV premiered last week and it was Ah-MAH-Zing! I'm quite fond of Stevie Ryan and I'm looking forward to seeing all the new episodes. I'm also excited that Nicol Paone is on the show!

It's Earth Day! What Are We Gonna Do?

 Happy Earth Day!

What have you done for your planet lately? This is our home, let's take care of it. I've been recycling cans and bottles since I was in Jr. High School. Thanks to the city of Los Angeles, we have our blue recycle bins that makes sorting the trash easy. The simple things do matter. You can take your used batteries, old computers and various waste materials to recycle centers. Check Earth911 for the nearby locations.

MOZ ART: An Artistic Tribute to MORRISSEY

If you're in the East L.A. area this weekend you should definitely stop by the MOZ ART show. My friend Mayra is displaying some of her paintings. It's an all ages event and there's a $5 cover. Fun for the whole family. I'm going with my brother and nieces.
An Artistic Tribute to STEVEN PATRICK MORRISSEY. This event seems to be like a mini Moz convention. There's going to be music, bands, vendors, beer, food, and more.
So come and celebrate Morrissey and Art!

BROKECHELLA

I just found out about this musical festival. I wish that I could go to Coachella but I can't afford it. I went to the first one and never went back. I saw this flyer and I thought it was very clever. So, if you're in L.A. and not the C.Valley, you should totally check it out. If you do go, definitely try and catch The Dead Ships!

Petty Fest 11/15/12 El Rey

I scored tickets to the Petty Fest, a celebration of Tom Petty music, thanks to L.A. Weekly. I attended the second night of the PettyFest West (L.A.'s debut); Jameson sponsored the event that raised money for Sweet Relief.  By the end of the night, I was Free Fallin' down with all that Jameson I drank.

Here is my mini review of the fest on TGI.

Johnny Depp played guitar on a few songs.

Great rendition of the songs throughout the night but my favorite was Landon Pigg's version of LEARNING TO FLY, with the beautiful & talented Mae Whitman on back vocals. If my eyes were closed, I would've thought Mr. Petty was singing it himself.

I've always loved Mae Whitman and I'm a big fan Parenthood, so when I saw that she was standing behind me, I had to give her a gift. I only had a lollipop but she was surprised and gave me a hug! At the end of the night, I saw her again and took a photo with her. She was super sweet! Even cooler, she retweeted my picture!!
It was exciting seeing so many artist collaborate for such an awesome event.
Check out my PHOTOS!
I'm a such a dork because I got excited when I saw Ben Savage!
The JAMESON girls were super hot!

Whup! (There It Is)

Okay, what's wrong with me? Have I not been living in Los Angeles for the past 3 years? I'm barely finding out about Big Whup. This band is just too adorable! I should've been catching them at gigs, 2 years ago. Well, at least they have a new fan now.

I bet you can't watch this video without smiling:

The Most Fun (Pants) at AFI Fest

I officially have a crush on DREW DENNY! I was lucky enough to catch The Most Fun I've Ever Had With My Pants On the other night at the AFI FEST. I almost didn't make it because I didn't want to go alone but I'm glad I did because it was amazing. Naturally, the title grabbed my attention, then I saw that Millie (freaks&geeks) was in it. My melancholic self checked my AFI Fest app after reading the description: In this dark comedy, friends Andy and Liv travel through the picturesque landscape of the Southwest in remembrance of Andy's father. How could something with a happy title be so sad?

Drew Denny (writer, director, actor) introduced the film saying that it was made as a dedication to her father, whom passed away from cancer, not even 2 years ago. My heart sank. She promised it wasn't going to be a sad movie but I couldn't help getting teary-eyed during the film. It must be difficult, to relive that. She has to be the bravest girl, ever; writing and acting in the film seemed emotionally hard enough but to go around presenting the film and then talking about it after, that is courage! She is now included in my nightly prayers.

I enjoyed the film very much. I felt like I was taking the journey with Andy (Drew Denny) and Liv (Sarah Hagan). OMG! In the beginning of the film, the girls sang, "Awesome God." It's just one of those songs I grew up on and 'til this day, I find myself randomly singing it. The movie was beautifully shot and the music complemented the scenery. I think it's so cool that Drew wrote a few songs for the film, as well as having her friends' music on the soundtrack. She was such a sweetheart during the Q&A; so pretty and all smiles; I loved her explanations for the questions. She also made cute film postcards for Fun Pants; shots taken at the various locations they visited. I got Austin, baby! That's where Drew's from =).

Turnstyle has a great interview with Drew Denny.
