Moz, Mel & More

I love Morrissey! I've spent most of my life on his trail. Unfortunately I wasn't hardcore enough to attend his Hollywood High gig. A few of my friends went; I had to stay behind; I wonder if they saw the jealousy in my eyes.

I envy the crowd of Moz Angelenos that were at that historical show. For the rest of us fans, we can stop our crying because the concert was filmed and will soon be available for viewing. My friend Melissa sent me an email with a Spin Magazine link showing a clip of Everyday Is Like Sunday....and she's in it!
Now, I'm even more excited for the concert film! I hope to see more of her, other friends and familiar faces.

And The Drums

The drums, the drums, the drums, the drums, oh!

I just love GREAT DJ by The Ting Tings; just as much as I love drummers. Okay, so it's no surprise that I'm a total GLEEK! Last April, my niece and I were in San Francisco looking at colleges and it just so happened that Bonnie Dune (Cory Monteith's new band) was performing. We went and it was a fun show!

I make little guitar pick necklaces for people I admire. That being said, I wanted to do something a little different for a cool drummer boy. I got a drum key and inscribed Cory's name on one side, and a star on the other. I then attached it to a key ring, with a chain for clipping on pants and easy access. Cory totally loved it and the band members said that he is always looking for a key. That was so cool because I gave him a gift that he would actually use.

A few months later, Cory tweeted about the drum key! That was just AWESOME!

Smiths Tribute Set 5/30/09

So yesterday we played at Marty's shortly after 11PM.

(Stef, Rick & Joseph)

We performed the 5 song set in about 20 minutes or so:

ASK
BIGMOUTH STRIKES AGAIN
THE BOY WITH A THORN IN HIS SIDE
THERE IS A LIGHT THAT NEVER GOES OUT
BARBARISM BEGINS AT HOME

(Rick, Joseph & Ernest)

Although we didn't have a name for the band, this being a one time gig, Rick told them we were called, "Another Smiths Cover Band." The rest of us just went along with it. We had some technical difficulties and some mess ups but it actually turned out fine. Thanks to all my peeps for showing up on such short notice. I love you!
